General Questions about Digital Downloads
Do I have to print my purchased sheet music right away?
No. As long as your device supports Adobe Acrobat .PSD files, you can download the title to your computer or mobile device, and print it when you need it. Once you’ve downloaded the file to your computer, Internet access is not required to print the music.
Can I access my Digital Download from anywhere?
Yes, if you already downloaded the music to your computer or mobile device, you’ll have immediate access to the music.
You can also view and print your Digital Download title from any computer or mobile device by accessing your Digital Library online.
Why can’t I view the entire song before buying?
Copyright laws and distribution regulations dictate that we only show one sample page.
Will the sheet music be saved on my computer?
Yes, once you’ve downloaded the Digital Download title, it will be saved to your computer or mobile device. Due to copyright laws, the sheet music files cannot be electronically distributed. Prints are restricted to the number of copies purchased.
What software do I need to view and print my sheet music?
We do not require any special software to view or print your music other than the universally free adobe reader for e-print products.
Can I use Digital Download on my iPad?
Yes, there’s no special app required. Simply click and view your music instantly.
I don’t like the digital sheet music I ordered. Can I get a refund?
Due to the nature of the service we cannot offer a refund of your Digital Download title after it has been downloaded. Unless there was a problem downloading, viewing, or printing it. If you experience trouble with your Digital Download, contact us. Please include details with a screenshot of the error along with your order number/license number.
Why didn’t I see my newly purchased Digital Download title in my account?
Your Digital Download order might be still processing. Sign out of your Digital Library, and then sign in after 10 minutes. There’s also a possibility you may have created another account; therefore confirm you’re signing in with the email address associated with your order. If your download doesn’t show up after 3o min. Please contact us and we’ll try to help you.
Viewing Questions
My music does not appear when I click the Digital Download title
You may want to confirm you have the latest version of Adobe Reader. For the latest version, visit http://www.get.adobe.com/reader. If you’ve installed the latest version of Adobe Reader and are still unable to view the music, please contact us at digital@sheetmusicplus.com and include your order number.
Printing Questions
Can I print the Digital Download from my iPad or mobile device?
Yes, you’ll be able to view and print on virtually any platform, including Windows®, Mac OS, and mobile platforms including Android™ and iOS for iPhone and iPad.
How many times can I print my Digital Download?
You are only licensed to print as many copies as you have purchased. You may replace a destroyed or lost copy up to a maximum of 2 times per licensed copy (so that your music lasts as long as tranditional printed octavos). However, you may not distribute the Digital Download to others or print more copies than purchased for use (i.e., you may not print individual copies for friends or students, give them to other schools or loan them to other libraries).
TIP: We strongly recommend that you print on to high quality paper, like Costco’s Xerox 24lb ultra bright Premium Multi-Purpose Paper. It’s cheap, thick, sturdy, super bright and will make your music last a long time like printed Octavos!
To comply with copyright regulations, you are only permitted to print the number of copies purchased. You might want to keep a copy of your receipt with your music in your files as proof of license and as a reminder of how many copies you are licenced to have in case any compliance issues. But your music should have the license information digitally added to the bottom of each page. (Don’t worry, we don’t check on our friends but some companies do check random schools for copyright infringement and the penalty can be staggering).
We would probably just say Hey, you know that extra 40 copies of our song you have there that you didn’t actually pay for… how about you send us a check and we’ll go have lunch together! 😉
What is the Digital Download watermark?
We encode personalized watermarks on our music that contain your Name, Company, License Code, and Number of copies purchased. Why? Your License Code and Quantity are an easy reminder of how many copies you should have.
We trust that you will treat us and our creative work as though it’s from a friend, a friend that you take a sense of pride in helping support by purchasing each copy you need and not making any illegal copies when you need more. We do that because we think of you as our good friend, and are so thankful for your support!
